a visit to the dentist

Today Cooper had his regular visit to the dentist. Apparently today was also the day they talked about brushing their teeth in school.

Cooper loves going to the dentist, which is pretty strange for me with my slight dental phobia. It is funny because, I have watched the kid being born, been there for most every needle shot and other painful act, but I had to turn my head when they stick that pointy mental tool in his mouth. I cringe just writing this.

I'm not totally sure where my phobia comes from. Maybe it just is. But I am glad my son enjoys his trips to the dentist.

This is crazy! I have the same kind of phobia...for no apparent reason. I remember the first dentist appointment Miles ever had. He had to have a small part of one of his front teeth ground away. He seemed fine with the whole thing. I, on the other hand, (while calmly saying "It's o.k. honey") was scanning the room for the nearest exit. Maybe I should've taken a hit of the nitrous oxide!

I HATE the dentist! There I've said and it and I feel better, but WAY TO GO COOPER! You are so brave and strong.

Chad, I HATE the dentist with a passion. There's nothing worse than having that big light over your head as some person in a mask picks at your gums...with the buzz of toothcleaners in the background. Sends shivers down my spine just thinking of it...
